Hi, I am Binbin Yu. I was born in 1986 in the northeast part of China, which is as cold as Edmonton! Wow! I spent my whole childhood with my family at a very small town in Heilongjiang province. After finishing highschool in 2005, I attended the Tianjin Polytechnic University and earned by B.Sc. in 2009. I then obtained by M.En. from the Capital Normal University in 2012. After that, I began my Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. Jinsong Hu and Prof. Lijun Wan, working on synthesis of inorganic photovoltaic nanomaterials and application for solar cells. I finished my Ph.D. this past summer and got the opportunity to join Prof. Buriak’s research group. I am really happy and excited to be working in Buriak group and the members of this group are so nice. Besides chemistry, some of my favourite things to do are traveling, cooking and eating delicious foods, and doing all kinds of sports. If I’m not in the lab or my office, I can be found with my good friends jogging along the river valley. I really like the sunshine and blue sky over here, although it seems a little cold!
